ANAGEN (GROWING PHASE)
It is the active hair growth phase that can last up to five years.
CATAGEN (INTERMEDIATE PHASE)
It is a period of regression. By the fifth year the hair follicle enters a resting period where gets ready to shed. This phase normally lasts between one to two weeks.
TELOGEN (RESTING PHASE)
It is the stage where a hair follicle reaches the end of its life. Hair still stays in the follicle but all activities are stopped. In 3-4 months time, the old hair sheds for lack of support and/or for the push exerted by a new growing hair (initial anagen).
INITIAL ANAGEN (GROWING PHASE)
Hair loss and hair thinning are associated with a variety of factors: most common are poor diet, heavy stress, hormonal changes, weak and aged bulb. When the rate of hair shedding exceeds the rate of re-growth and new hair is thinner than the hair shed, bigger portion of scalp becomes visible with subsequent social embarassment.
